Chromebooks have officially stepping out of the shadows to become the gift of choice over the Black Friday weekend, but it’s looking like some of the best deals of all have been held back for today. Yes, Cyber Monday is once again up us and has brought with it some pretty spectacular deals on the already bargain-basement Chrome computers the world is slowly but surely falling in love with.
So if you’re happy to forego the glory of Windows or Mac OS X in favor of Google’s Chrome OS, today’s the day to pick up an absolute steal on some of the best Chromebooks out there.
For example, the Cyber Monday deals being advertised as Staples are right now topping the bill – Acer’s CB3-111-C670 with an 11.6-inch screen is down $50 to just $149.99. If you’re after a slightly bigger display, the 13.3-inch Asus C300MA-DB01 can be picked up from BH Photo with a $30 price cut – now $179. Andover at Adorama, the popular Lenovo ThinkPad N20 with its 11.6-inch screen on sale for $189.99 – again, $30 cheaper than the usual selling price.
Still coming in at less than $200 is the Toshiba Chromebook 2, a 13.30-inch mid-tier machine with a price at Sam’s Club of $199 this Cyber Monday. One of the best of the lower-end deals, Samsung’s Chromebook XE303C12-A01US is down to $199 from the normal selling price of $199 and comes loaded with a pretty powerful Exynos 5 CPU.
Going up the ladder a little further, the 14-inch Nvidia Tegra K1-powered HP Chromebook 14will set you back a buck short of $300 if you buy it direct from HP, but has been given a Cyber Monday discount of $20 at Sam’s Club and $30 at Office Depot.
Right at the top of the table, the Acer C720-3605 has been modestly reduced in price at Office Depot to $309.99. For this, you’ll get 4G of RAM, an Intel Core i3 processor, a delightfully capable battery and 32GB of storage space – you’ll also save $30 on the everyday selling price. Alternatively, the Acer C720P-29554G01aii sells for the same $309 price at Adorama – a device that uses an Intel Celeron processor and packs only 2GB of RAM but ups the ante with a touchscreen.
